On the heels of the 9th Annual Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Summit (DWEN), Dell Technologies hosted an interactive PolicyHack to develop solutions on ways Sydney can continue to attract high-potential women entrepreneurs. The winning team, “The Capitalists”, comprised of Jacqui Walshe, the Managing Director of The Walshe Group (and a member of DWEN), Mariam Mohammed, a masters student at University of Sydney and Andrew Asfaganov, a web developer and founder of CityMiner. Sydney ranked 11th on the 2017 WE Cities Index, and our 2018 research shows that Sydney leaders and influencers could drive further opportunities by focusing on policies that promote access to capital and work/life balance and foster female talent. The hack was judged by Dell Technologies executives and industry leaders: • Angela Fox, General Manager, Commercial and Public Sector, Dell EMC ANZ • Ben Jackson, General Manager, Consumer and Small Business, Dell ANZ • Wendy Simpson, Entrepreneur & Business Leader • Roz Gregory, Director Customer Success and Digital Transformation, Asia Pacific and Japan, Pivotal • Susie Gemmell, Engagement Director, Sydney School of Entrepreneurship
